Our aim is to ensure safe, structured, and enjoyable walks for all dogs in our care.
Before services begin, owners must complete a registration form including:
Owner contact details
Emergency contact details
Veterinary practice details
Medical conditions
Behavioural history
Owners must ensure information provided is accurate and up to date.
Dogs must:
Be up to date with vaccinations where appropriate
Be free from contagious illness
Have up-to-date flea and worm treatment
Dogs showing signs of illness may not be walked.
Owners must disclose any behaviour concerns including:
Aggression towards dogs or people
Resource guarding
Escape tendencies
Reactivity
Dogs that present a safety risk may be refused service.
Where group walks are offered:
Dogs will be matched carefully based on temperament and size.
Group size will be limited to maintain safe control.
Pet Getaway prioritises safety and balanced group dynamics.
Dogs will only be walked off-lead where:
Owner permission has been provided
Recall is reliable
The environment is safe
If recall is unreliable, dogs will remain on lead or long line.
Walks may be modified, shortened, or cancelled during:
Heatwaves
Severe storms
Ice or snow
Extreme weather warnings
Dog welfare always takes priority.
Where property access is required:
Clients may provide keys or access instructions
Keys are managed according to the Pet Getaway Key Holder Policy
In the event of illness or injury during a walk:
The owner will be contacted immediately
Veterinary treatment may be sought if required
Owners remain responsible for veterinary costs
Emergency veterinary authorisation must be provided before services begin.
Owners must provide reasonable notice for cancellations.
Late cancellations may be charged depending on notice provided.
Pet Getaway takes all reasonable care while dogs are in our care.
However, we cannot accept liability for:
Undisclosed behavioural issues
Pre-existing medical conditions
Incidents outside our control where reasonable care has been taken
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence.
