Pet Getaway is a home dog boarding service based in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Pet Getaway.
“Owner” refers to the person booking services.
“Dog” refers to the animal(s) placed in our care.
Pet Getaway operates in accordance with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 and is licensed by Wigan Council (licence number AAL0106).
We reserve the right to refuse service if a dog does not meet welfare or safety standards.
Bookings are only confirmed once:
A Meet & Greet has been completed (for new clients)
Required forms are completed
Deposit or payment (if required) has been received
A non-refundable deposit of £20 may be required to secure dates.
Full payment must be made by 48 hours before booking commences, unless otherwise agreed.
Failure to pay may result in cancellation.
Cancellations must be made in writing.
Refund policy:
Less than 7 days’ notice – [50% of Total Booking Amount]
Peak period bookings may be non-refundable.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking if:
A dog presents unsafe behaviour
Illness risk is identified
False information has been provided
An emergency prevents service delivery
Any payments made will be refunded where appropriate.
Owners confirm that:
Dogs are fully vaccinated (including core vaccinations)
Dogs are free from contagious illness
Flea and worm treatments are up to date
We reserve the right to refuse entry if a dog appears unwell.
If illness develops during boarding:
The owner will be contacted
Veterinary treatment may be sought if necessary
Costs will be the responsibility of the owner
In the event of illness or emergency:
We will attempt to contact the owner immediately
If unreachable, we are authorised to seek veterinary treatment
The owner agrees to cover all associated costs
We are not liable for outcomes resulting from pre-existing medical conditions.
Owners must disclose:
Behavioural issues
Aggression history
Anxiety conditions
Resource guarding
Previous bite incidents
Failure to disclose behavioural history may result in immediate termination of boarding without refund.
Dogs showing aggressive or dangerous behaviour may be isolated and owners required to collect immediately.
While every reasonable care is taken:
Dogs interact in a home environment
Minor scratches or play-related incidents may occur
Pet Getaway shall not be held liable for:
Pre-existing health conditions
Stress-related illness
Minor injuries arising from normal social interaction
Escape where reasonable security measures were in place
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence causing death or serious injury.
Owners may provide:
Bedding
Toys
Food
We are not responsible for damage to personal items brought into the home.
We may take photographs of dogs for:
Owner updates
Social media
Website use
Owners may opt out of photography in writing.
Dogs must be collected at the agreed time.
Late collection may incur additional charges of £5 per hour.
If a dog is not collected and no contact is made, emergency contacts will be notified.
If a dog is not collected within 7 days of the agreed date and no contact is made, we reserve the right to seek appropriate rehoming solutions and recover costs.
We are not liable for failure to provide services due to events beyond reasonable control, including:
Severe weather
Fire
Illness outbreak
Government restrictions
Utility failure
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
The latest version will always be available on our website.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
