Pet Getaway’s Terms & Conditions
Safeguarding & Emergency Response
Pet Getaway will always treat your pet’s health & safety as paramount. On your enquiry, a Meet & Greet will be arranged for a convenient time & will last approximately 30 minutes. A new booking will not be accepted, without this initial visit being attended. Meet & Greets are our way of ensuring that each pet is seen & observed by our Pet Minder, to ensure the safety of the pet itself & of the other pets in our care. Bookings are only taken on the genuine belief that all pets being boarded are of good nature.
Other pets stay at the setting & disagreements between pets can happen. In the case of an injury/emergency, you will be giving consent for your pet to be taken to PetMedics in Worsley (M28 2LY) or Walkden (M28 3DS), depending on their availability to accommodate.
You will be contacted by phone to arrange card payment for your pet’s treatment. They will be taken in the Pet Minder’s car to seek emergency treatment. A nominated person will be called to stay with the other pets in our care.
Pet Getaway will endeavour to always seek veterinary attention as soon as possible. However, if for any reason there is a delay in getting your pet to the vet, First Aid will be carried out.
If unexpected injuries arise during your pet’s stay, the pet owner must claim on their pet insurance for any treatment, after initial payment over the phone, on the day it has been made. All veterinary fees incurred during your pet’s stay remain the responsibility of the Pet Owner.
If your pet is on any short or long term medication, a Medication Form will need to be completed to state the details of any doses that need to be administered by the Pet Minder.
Kennel cough treatment (if you require your pet to receive it), must be administered at least one week before their stay/initial visit.
All pet’s behaviour will be monitored & observations will be made. This is to identify any changes that may occur during their stay. Any changes noticed will be discussed with the Pet Owner, along with any other observations that may have been made.
If your booking exceeds two weeks, it is recommended that your pet is weighed (either at your vet or at home), before & after the visit.
Neutering
To ensure the safety, comfort, & well-being of all pets in our care, we require that all pets attending are castrated/neutered (unless under veterinary exemption for age or medical reasons).
Unneutered pets can display hormonal behaviours that may cause tension within group environments, such as mounting, marking, aggression, or anxiety. Female dogs in season can also trigger unwanted behaviours in males & create management challenges for the Pet Minder. These behaviours can increase the risk of injury or stress to other pets & disrupt group play/socialisation.
Neutering significantly reduces these risks, promotes a calmer, more stable atmosphere & supports the safe & enjoyable experience we aim to provide for every pet. It also prevents the possibility of accidental mating & associated welfare or legal concerns.
We therefore ask all owners to provide confirmation of neutering before enrolment. Puppies may be accepted prior to neutering but must be neutered once they reach an appropriate age, as advised by their veterinarian.
Exercise & Well-Being
Whilst in our care, all pets will be exercised daily. Enrichment activities will be available for each pet, tailored to their own interests. We also have a designated area for pets who are tired & wish to rest.
Pet Getaway has washing, drying & grooming facilities on site too, to ensure all pets are kept clean, dry & free from discomfort during their stay.
All pets must wear an identity tag/collar with Pet Owner contact details stated (this is a Legal Requirement when in a Public Place). Pet Getaway will also add their own identity tag with contact details while in our care.
We understand that some pets will find comfort in familiar items/toys, however, all personal items left with your pet, are done so at the Pet Owner’s risk. Food however, is a must & should be provided in enough quantity to cover the duration of their stay.
Late Collections
We understand that life can sometimes get in the way of perfect timing, & we’ll always do our best to be flexible. However, it’s very important that all pets are collected promptly, at their agreed time.
Late collections can have a significant impact on the smooth running of our services. Schedules, cleaning routines, & feeding times are carefully planned to ensure that every pet receives the best possible care. When a pet is collected late, it can delay the preparation for & arrival of other pets, increase stress levels within the group & extend working hours beyond schedule.
To help us manage the day safely & fairly for all affected, a £5 late collection charge will apply for every hour (or part thereof) past your agreed collection time.
We completely understand that unexpected delays can happen – if you contact us in advance to let us know, we’ll always do our best to accommodate you & may waive the charge, where appropriate.
